URAYAMA tour
(URAYAMA :hill or mountain behind a house)

The literal meaning of Urayama is “the mountain behind our base”. And that is where you will be going on this tour!

This tour is for high intermediate level to advanced skiers and riders who do not have experience in backcountry skiing. You will learn ski touring skills as well as avalanche and deep snow safety skills and also improve your skiing and riding ability in powder and trees.

Participants must have some experience in powder skiing and have the ability to ski trees with confidence.

The vast scale of Shiga Kogen (over 50 lifts), together with the experience of your local guides, Yoshi and Yutaro, will ensure you are skiing fresh powder and the best lines every day! 

Itinerary

Day 1 : Meet your guide
・Arrive in Japan.
・Have a safe trip to AIBIYA and check-in.
・Meet your guide and have an orientation at AIBIYA from 5 pm.
・Have all your ducks in order for your powder adventure.

Day 2 – 6 : Backcountry and side country for 5 days in Shigakogen
(Note that depending on the weather condition of the day, tour location subject to change)
・Start your day with locally-sourced continental breakfast at AIBIYA.
・Depart from AIBIYA at 8am.
・Soak up the powder with local guides.
・Come back to AIBIYA.
・Savour your free time. You can have local beer at the tatami lounge or soak your body in the exquisite hot spring bath and feel the authentic atmosphere.
・Prepare your own feast or Eat out at a local restaurants.
・Kaiseki dinner on the last day of the tour.

Day 7: Departure day
・After breakfast, head off to the airport or extend your stay and enjoy another powder day.

About ski ability level

Participant who will join the tour must be able to ski or snowboard like the skier in the video.
