Who we are?
Powder Geek Japan is a ski tour company based in Shigakogen, started by two local skiers Yoshi and Yutaro. Growing up in the UNESCO Eco Park Shigakogen, where nature and people coexist harmoniously, the two wanted to spread the charm of Shigakogen`s winter, the season they love most.
Powder Geek Japan offers you a powder adventure that will be remembered by the senses. The authentic local food you taste at the ski resort, the spectacular scenery you see from the top of the mountain, the sound of skiing in the trees, the smell of cool and refreshing air, and the vivid touch of feather-light snow on the tip of your skis. Experience the sensations of local skiers through a powder adventure made up of years of experience and knowledge of local skiers.
Our guides
Their relationship, whose date of birth is only three days apart, started from the day they were lying side by side in the incubator, Yutaro and Yoshi are still maintain a good friendship.
They first started skiing since they were three years old and have been skiing at their home ground Shigakogen for over 30 years, establishing themselves as local skiers.
To convey the essence of powder snow to the powder chasers from all over the world, they are here to lead you to the path to the best powder snow.
Yutaro is a fully accredited backcountry ski guide (Japan Mountain Guides Association Certificate) and Yoshi is also a very experienced backcountry skier, having skied at Shiga Kogen since he was three years old.
